Solutions Marketing Manager

The Solutions Marketing Manager is responsible for the outbound marketing positioning, and inbound sales enablement, of Second City Works solutions. This individual will craft the messaging and positioning for solutions and partner with marketing and sales leaders to conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate Second City Works’ programs to the business needs of our customers and prospects is crucial. The Solutions Marketing Manager will be the expert in buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel. This person will have a direct impact on the evolution of the Second City Works brand, and the sophistication of our business development approach.

  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Development – solution positioning and messaging that differentiates Second City Works’ solutions in the market
  • Translate the value of Second City Works’ solution offerings to the needs and objectives of customers and prospects
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the solutions to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of our solutions. Work with the Vice Presidents of Sales to align solution offerings, messaging, and sales tools with the revenue objectives defined by them.
  • Solution launch – plan the launch of new solutions and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Customer journey mapping – develop and document the prospect path to purchase, the customer maturity path, and the messaging and tools to guide each along their journey.
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on our buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on our competition and how to win
  • Strategy – work with the Director of Sales and Marketing Operations to proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s planning efforts. Work with the Vice President of Marketing to develop demand generation and customer growth programs.
  • Systems – Work within Eloqua and SFDC CRM
  • Maintain metrics reports on marketing and sales results tied to each solution marketing program
  • Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product or solution marketing experience with 2+ years managing multiple products concurrently
  • Experience in development of product or solution marketing plans
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and CRM systems (Salesforce.com, Eloqua)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
  • Technically capable, excellent communicator, with a desire to improve processes
  • Passionate, innovative, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and creative – unafraid to take chances on new approaches yet with a practical eye toward getting things done
  • BA/BS or equivalent working experience
  • Proficiency in GSuite and Microsoft Office

The opportunity for our account directors is to identify where and how we can make each company more productive and effective utilizing the proven techniques and experience from 57 years of The Second City, with the talent of today.

  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify, consult with and close Fortune 1000 client prospects, discovering opportunities and challenges where Second City Works could be a strategic long-term partner
  • Educate prospects on SCW: who we are, our capabilities, and how we are uniquely equipped to improve engagement and connection with employees or customers
  • Manage all phases of the sales lifecycle across a variety of sales scenarios (new prospects, re-activations, growth within existing accounts)
  • Partner with Client Services and Creative Talent to customize client programs and solutions, ensuring that we deliver on our promises
  • Qualifications
  • 7+ years of consistent sales success, with majority of annual quota ($1.5M+) coming from new business
  • Experience selling products or services to Fortune 1000 leaders, and selling them well
  • Successful experience selling repeat or subscription-based solutions with expansion opportunities
  • Evidence of closing key accounts where others have missed, via alternative approaches or solutions
  • Proven reliability to self-manage your schedule, targets and timelines
  • Communication skills that make other people envious; collaboration skills that make teammates thankful
  • Demonstrated sales success due to inquisitiveness, resilience and/or likeability. Preferably all 3.
  • Experience in consumer insights, human capital / talent development, compliance or risk a potential plus
